Ivanka Trump secret: The hidden message behind First Daughter’s Moroccan outfit revealed

President Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, embarked on a three-day visit to Morocco about the economic empowerment of women in developing countries. She was there to promote the US government’s Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative, which she spearheads. Morocco’s Princess Lalla Meryem, Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and other officials met the First Daughter at the airport in the capital of Rabat.

Ivanka’s grey, embroidered blouse and trousers sparked conversation about her sartorial choice.

White House Specialty Media Director, Carolina Hurley, revealed the hidden message in the First Daughter’s outfit.

She tweeted: “Fun fact: the designer of Ivanka Trump’s outfit yesterday, Fadila el Gadi, runs an institute in Morocco that teaches underprivileged children the art of embroidery.”

Ms el Gadi established the school to save embroidery – a part of Morocco’s culture – from extinction.

She had a lifelong love for the art of embroidery.

After becoming a fashion designer, she realised she needed to act fast if she wanted to see more of that art.

Ms el Gadi told Al Jazeera: ”Opening a school that teaches embroidery was not only my dream but also a necessity given how this art is dying.

“This not only helps conserve the tradition but also gives these kids hope for the future because otherwise they had nothing to look forward to.”

She added: “Women’s ability to own + manage property is critical to gender equality and economic empowerment.

“I was honoured to speak with His Majesty King Mohammed VI & thank him for his gracious hospitality during our delegation’s visit to the beautiful country of Morocco.

“The US and President deeply value the long-standing & growing bilateral relationship between our countries.

“His Majesty and I discussed his meaningful recent legal reforms to advance gender equality in Morocco.

“We appreciate his leadership on making progress on all aspects of the Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact.”
